Overview
ResearchLogix automatically links investigators to publications based on PubMed name matching. Occasionally, a name match may incorrectly attribute a publication to a member who is not an author. The Unlink Author feature lets administrators flag these incorrect links without permanently deleting them. If a mistake is made, the link can be restored at any time.
Marking an Author as Incorrect
- Navigate to CCSG > Publications in the left sidebar to open the Publication Workspace.
- Locate the publication and click its title to open the publication detail page.
- Click the Linked Authors tab.
- Find the author in the Currently Linked Authors table.
- Click the Unlink Author button on that author's row.
- A confirmation message will appear: "Author has been updated for this publication."
The author's name will appear with a strikethrough to indicate they have been marked incorrect. They will no longer be counted in publication reports, program metrics, or citation exports for this publication.
Note: Unlinking an author does not delete the record — it simply flags the link as incorrect. The publication itself remains in the system.
Restoring an Author (Undoing a Mistake)
If an author was unlinked by mistake, you can restore them from the same Linked Authors tab:
- Navigate back to the publication's Linked Authors tab.
- Find the author shown with strikethrough styling.
- Click the Relink Author button on their row.
- A confirmation message will appear: "Author has been updated for this publication."
The author is immediately restored and will be included in reports and metrics again.
Reviewing All Rejected Publications
You can review a full account-wide list of publications that have at least one incorrectly marked author from the Rejected Publications page.
- Navigate to CCSG > Publications > Rejected Publications, or go directly to:
https://app.rlogx.com/CCSG/publications/rejected-publications - The table lists all affected publications along with author and date information.
- Use the Export to CSV button to download the list for offline review.
Use this page as a safety net any time you need to audit or reverse incorrect author flags across the account.
Tips & Notes
- Unlink Author and Relink Author are a toggle — clicking either one flips the author's status immediately.
- Unlinked authors are visually identified by a strikethrough on the Linked Authors tab.
- This action is logged in the publication's history for auditing purposes.
- If a member's name is consistently causing incorrect matches, consider updating their PubMed Aliases on their profile to improve future matching accuracy.
