Importing Publications for your Account

Objective

This tutorial explains how to manually import publications into Research Logix from PubMed. While ResearchLogix automatically imports publications daily, this guide provides steps for initiating an import at any time using a specified date range.

Key Steps

1. Access the Publication Import Tool

   • Navigate to the Publication Workspace.

   • Select PubMed Import.

2. Specify the Import Criteria

   • Choose the date range for the publications you want to import.

   • Ensure the selected range aligns with your needs to capture relevant publications.

3. Initiate the Import Process

   • Click Import Pubs to start the import.

   • A confirmation message will appear, indicating that the import process has begun.

4. Wait for the Import to Complete

   • The import process may take some time to complete.

   • You may leave the page, and you will be notified once the import is finished.

5. Review Imported Publications

   • Once completed, the newly imported publications will be available in Unreviewed Pubs.

Cautionary Notes

• The import process can take time depending on the number of publications. Avoid initiating multiple imports in quick succession.

• Ensure the correct date range is selected to prevent missing relevant publications.

• Imported publications will require review and categorization within Unreviewed Pubs.

• Perform imports during off-peak hours to ensure system performance remains optimal.
