To ensure that all authors are accurately highlighted in publications within Research Logix by updating author search settings to include variations in name spellings. This process will minimize misunderstandings and errors in author identification and maximize productivity and accuracy in task execution.
Key Steps

Access Author Cleanup Tool

Open Research Logix and navigate to the Tools menu.

Select Author Cleanup from the dropdown.

Identify Authors with Missing Highlights

On the left-hand side, review the list of individuals with publications that are not highlighted.

Identify the author you need to update (e.g., Daniel Boateng).

Check Current Author Search Settings

Review the current author search settings for the selected author (e.g., Boateng DD).

Note any variations in the spelling of the author's name that may need to be addressed.

Update Author Search Settings

Click on Possible Pub Names to view alternative name variations.

Select the appropriate name variation (e.g., Boateng D) and click Update.

Confirm that the system updates the author’s PubMed search terms to include the new variation.

Verify Author Removal from To-Do List

Ensure that the author has been removed from the to-do list, indicating that the cleanup process is complete.

Handle No Suggestions

If there are variations listed as "no suggestions," review them for potential inclusion.

Select any relevant name variations and click Add to include them in the author’s search terms.

Click Update Search Terms to save changes.

Repeat for Other Authors

If there are additional authors needing updates, repeat steps 2-6 for each individual.
