Objective

This tutorial explains how to manually update publications in Research Logix using the PubMed on-demand update feature. While Research Logix automatically updates linked publications twice daily, this guide provides steps for initiating an update manually when needed.

Key Steps

  1. Access the PubMed On-Demand Update Tool

    • Navigate to the Publication Workspace.

    • Select PubMed On-Demand Update.

  2. Initiate the Update Process

    • Click PubMed Data On-Demand to start the update.

    • The system will locate all publications linked to your account and update them based on the latest data available on PubMed.

  3. Review Updated Information

    • The update will refresh details such as:

      • Title

      • Authors

      • Journal

      • PMCID

      • Abstract

      • And other relevant metadata

Cautionary Notes

  • The automated update runs twice daily, so manual updates should only be performed when necessary.

  • The update process may take some time, depending on the number of linked publications.

  • Ensure that publications are properly linked to your account for the update to work correctly.

Tips for Efficiency

  • Use the on-demand update feature only when immediate updates are required.

  • Verify publication details after an update to ensure accuracy.

  • If frequent manual updates are required, review the automated process to confirm it's working effectively.
