Standard Operating Procedure for Managing Impact Factors in ResearchLogix
Objective
This SOP outlines the steps to view and manage impact factors for journals within the ResearchLogix system.
Key Steps
1. Accessing Journal Settings 0:27
- Navigate to the left side of the screen.
- Click on Settings.
- Scroll down and select Manage Journals.
2. Importing and Exporting Journals 0:39
- In the Manage Journals section, you have options to:
- Import Journals using the Reference Template.
- Export Journals to view impact factors.
3. Matching Journals with Impact Factors 0:56
- When importing journals, ResearchLogix matches the ISSN and ESSN to display the correct Impact Factor.
- The system also uses the journal name to pull the latest record.
4. Viewing Impact Factors 1:12
- Click on the Export Journals tab to see the impact factor values displayed on the right side of the screen.
5. Managing Journal Records 1:32
- Click on Manage to view records connected to the journals.
- Select a journal to view its impact factor value.
Cautionary Notes
- Ensure that the ISSN and ESSN are correctly matched to avoid discrepancies in impact factor values.
- Double-check the journal names for accuracy when importing data.
Tips for Efficiency
- Regularly update the journal list to ensure you have the latest impact factors.
- Use the export feature to create a backup of your journal data for reference.
