Setting Up Auto-Import for Publications for a RLOGX Profile

Objective

To ensure that team members can effectively set up and manage the automatic import of publications from PubMed for researchers, minimizing errors and maximizing productivity in the publication review process.

Key Steps

1. Access Researcher Profile

   • Navigate to the "Researchers" section of the platform.

   • Select the specific researcher whose settings you wish to configure.

2. Enable Auto-Import Settings

   • Go to the "Settings" tab within the researcher’s profile.

   • Locate the "Member Settings" section.

   • Ensure that the option for "Auto-Import PubMed Publications" is set to Active.

3. Enable Publication Review Process

   • In the same "Settings" tab, find the option for "Publication Review."

   • Set the "Include in Publication Review" option to Active if you want this researcher to be part of the internal ResearchLogix publication review process.

4. Configure Publication Identification Settings

   • Under the "Publication Settings" section, choose the method for identifying publications:

     • Full Name Search: This is the default option using the researcher’s first and last name.

     • Specific Publication Author Format: If the researcher publishes under variations of their name (e.g., maiden names), select this option and specify the variations.

     • ORCID ID: If applicable, enter the researcher’s ORCID ID found above the publication settings under "Identifiers."

5. Save Changes

   • After making all necessary adjustments, ensure to click the Save button to apply the changes to the researcher’s profile.

Cautionary Notes

• Double-check that the settings are correctly applied before saving to avoid any issues with publication imports.

• Ensure that the ORCID ID is accurate; incorrect entries may prevent successful publication identification.

Tips for Efficiency

• Regularly review and update the settings for each researcher to ensure they remain current, especially if the researcher changes their name or ORCID ID.

• Utilize a checklist to confirm that all steps have been completed for each researcher to streamline the process.

• Set reminders to periodically verify the auto-import functionality and publication review participation to maintain accuracy in tracking publications.
